This systematic literature review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) of the sacroiliac joint. Bone marrow edema (BME) of the sacroiliac joint is an early manifestation of some diseases, such as ankylosing spondylitis, and is usually examined by nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); however, MRI can be intolerable for some patients; hence, numerous studies have analyzed DECT examinations. ⋯ DECT appears to be a promising diagnostic tool for detecting BME in the sacroiliac joint and can be used as an alternative examination method for patients in whom MRI is contraindicated.

Meta AnalysisDiagnostic Accuracy of Procalcitonin in Bacterial Infections of the CNS: An Updated Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis, and Meta-Regression.
To evaluate diagnostic accuracy of serum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) procalcitonin for diagnosing CNS bacterial infections. ⋯ In children and critical post-neurosurgical patients, CSF procalcitonin gains superior sensitivity and specificity compared with serum procalcitonin. Overall, CSF procalcitonin appears to have a higher pooled positive likelihood ratio compared with serum procalcitonin.

Screening and diagnostic tools for autism spectrum disorder: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder, with main manifestations related to communication, social interaction, and behavioral patterns. The slight dynamics of change in the child over time require that the onset of clinical manifestations presented by the child be more valued, with the aim of stabilizing the condition. Faced with a variety of methods for diagnosing ASD, the question arises as to which method should be used. This systematic review aims to recommend the best tools to perform screening and diagnosis. ⋯ It is mandatory to apply a screening test, the most recommended being the M-CHAT-R/F. For diagnosis CARS and ADOS are the most recommended tools.

Smartphone App PACOM to Provide Advice Regarding Self-Triage for the Acute Primary Care Needs of Children: Accuracy of Algorithms.
We developed a phone app, PACOM (Parents Application Conseils et Orientation Médicale), to provide medical advice to caregivers based on several algorithms and a series of binary questions related to children's symptoms. We compared the recommendations of the PACOM algorithms and clinicians for children visiting the emergency department (ED). ⋯ The PACOM algorithms has high sensitivity but low specificity for reducing ED visits and calls for urgent medical support.

[Artificial Intelligence: accuracy for the diagnosis of precancerous lesions of the cervix].
To compare the diagnostic sensitivity of artificial intelligence (AI) assisted videocolposcopy with standard videocolposcopy performed by specialist colposcopists. ⋯ The high diagnostic accuracy of AI videocolposcopy allows obtaining highly sensitive studies that help in the early detection of precursor lesions of cervical neoplasia.
