An Assessment of the Knowledge and Practices of Adults in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, Concerning Routine Medical Checkups.
This study aims to measure the knowledge and practices of adults in the Jazan region of Saudi Arabia concerning routine medical checkups. ⋯ Attending routine medical checkups is uncommon and only motivated by the existence of a diagnosed medical condition. Furthermore, this study found low utilization of the Know Your Numbers campaign services. This suggests a need for greater emphasis on increasing awareness of routine medical checkups among adults in the Jazan region.

To describe the feasibility, efficacy, and learner perception of the flipped classroom model for teaching conferences within surgical training programs. ⋯ Utilization of a flipped classroom method was well received and preferred by surgical trainees, and it increased performance on pre-conference quizzes without increasing preparation time. Although creation of video lectures is work-intensive for lecturers, these results suggest it is more effective for learner preparation. These results could be generalizable to surgical residents nationwide as technology utilization increases in surgical education.

Knowledge and Practice of Burn First Aid Among Saudi Arabian Medical and Non-Medical University Students.
Burns are serious injuries, resulting in high morbidity and healthcare costs. Effective first aid improves outcomes. ⋯ Although most students reported having personal experience with burns, and had received some information regarding burn first aid, only about half were able to provide correct responses regarding first aid techniques, and medical students were no more accurate than non-medical students in their responses. Results suggest that members of the Saudi Arabian population may lack appropriate knowledge about burn first aid, and education and public information resources may help to remedy this problem.
