Randomized Controlled TrialOpioid-sparing effect of nefopam in combination with paracetamol after major abdominal surgery: a randomized double-blind study.
Because nefopam's morphine-sparing is debated when combined with paracetamol, this study aimed to assess pain relief by IV nefopam in combination with paracetamol after major abdominal surgery. ⋯ This prospective randomized study suggested that nefopam in combination with paracetamol has no benefit after open abdominal surgery.

Randomized Controlled TrialAnalgesic Effects of Intravenous Acetaminophen vs Placebo for Endoscopic Sinus Surgery and Postoperative Pain: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Intravenous acetaminophen is a commonly prescribed analgesic for the prevention and treatment of postsurgical pain. Its efficacy in the context of endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) has yielded mixed results. ⋯ The results of this study are inconclusive. The data suggest that perioperative intravenous acetaminophen may reduce immediate postoperative pain and opioid requirements compared with placebo and these differences could be clinically meaningful. Unfortunately, the imprecision of the estimates prevents definitive conclusion. Use of IVAPAP does not seem to increase adverse events.

The effect of ondansetron on analgesic efficacy of acetaminophen after hysterectomy: A randomized double blinded placebo controlled trial.
To determine that perioperative ondansetron reduces the analgesic efficacy of acetaminophen. ⋯ Ondansetron significantly decreased the analgesic effect of acetaminophen during the initial postoperative period. Our results thus confirm that acetaminophen analgesia is partially mediated by serotonin receptors. However, the reduction was of marginal clinical importance and short-lived.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyEffects of IV Acetaminophen on Core Body Temperature and Hemodynamic Responses in Febrile Critically Ill Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial.
To determine the effects of IV acetaminophen on core body temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate in febrile critically ill patients. ⋯ Among febrile critically ill adults, treatment with acetaminophen decreased temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate. IV acetaminophen thus produces modest fever reduction in critical care patients, along with clinically important reductions in blood pressure.

Randomized Controlled TrialPopulation pharmacokinetics of intravenous acetaminophen in Japanese patients undergoing elective surgery.
Intravenous (i.v.) acetaminophen is administered during surgery for postoperative analgesia. However, little information is available on the pharmacokinetics of i.v. acetaminophen in Japanese patients undergoing surgery under general anesthesia. ⋯ A population pharmacokinetic model of i.v. acetaminophen in Japanese patients was constructed, with performance within acceptable ranges.
