Multicenter StudyHeterogeneity Among Countries in the Subspecialty of Cardiovascular Anesthesia in Latin America: Survey Results.
To evaluate demographics, workload, training, facilities, and equipment in cardiovascular anesthesia (CVA) in Latin America (LA). ⋯ A significant lack of training programs in anesthesiology practice and complex procedures in medical centers in LA are evident. Thus, basic accredited programs should be developed in medical centers in LA.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyRegistries in pediatric anesthesiology: A brief history and a new way forward.
Clinical registries are multicenter prospective observational datasets that have been used to examine current perioperative practices in pediatric anesthesia. These datasets have proven useful in quantifying the incidence of rare adverse outcomes. Data from registries can highlight associations between severe patient safety events and patient and procedure-related risk factors. ⋯ The maintenance of registries over time can be challenging due to difficulties in modifying the included variables, collaborator fatigue, and continued outlay of resources to maintain the database and onboard new sites. These latter issues can lead to decreased data quality. In this article, we discuss key insights from several pediatric anesthesia registries and propose a new type of registry that addresses some shortcomings of the current paradigm.

The dose of focused ultrasound ablation surgery (FUAS) for unresectable pancreatic cancer is predictable: A multicenter retrospective study.
To analyze the influencing factors of energy efficiency factors (EEF) in focused ultrasound ablation surgery (FUAS) for unresectable pancreatic cancer and build a dosimetry model. The patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer that underwent FUAS were enrolled from 3 clinical centers between June 2015 and June 2022 for retrospective analysis. ⋯ The resultant multiple regression models of EEF achieved significance, contains predictors of Tumor volume, the distance from tumor center to skin, T2-weighted imaging fat suppression signal intensity, and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging enhancement type had better goodness of fit. Compared with CT, the EEF prediction model established by adding magnetic resonance imaging features showed better prediction in FUAS treatment of unresectable pancreatic cancer.

Development and validation of a machine learning ASA-score to identify candidates for comprehensive preoperative screening and risk stratification.
The ASA physical status (ASA-PS) is determined by an anesthesia provider or surgeon to communicate co-morbidities relevant to perioperative risk. Assigning an ASA-PS is a clinical decision and there is substantial provider-dependent variability. We developed and externally validated a machine learning-derived algorithm to determine ASA-PS (ML-PS) based on data available in the medical record. ⋯ We created and validated a machine learning physical status based on preoperatively available data. The ability to identify patients at high risk early in the preoperative process independent of the provider's decision is a part of the process we use to standardize the stratified preoperative evaluation of patients scheduled for ambulatory surgery.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyCurrent Use, Training, and Barriers of Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Anesthesiology: A National Survey of Veterans Affairs Hospitals.
The purpose of this study was to determine current use, training needs, and barriers to point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) use among anesthesiologists in practice. ⋯ A significant increase in desire for POCUS training was seen among anesthesiologists practicing in the Veterans Affairs healthcare system since 2015, and lack of training continues to be a top barrier for POCUS use among anesthesiologists.
