Correlation of Air-Bone Gap on Pure Tone Audiometry with the Size of Perforation Assessed on Oto-Endoscopy.
To determine the correlation between the air-bone gap on pure tone audiometry with size of perforation oto-endoscopically. Study Design: A descriptive study. Place and Duration of the Study: Department of ENT - Head and Neck Surgery, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), from February 2020 to August 2021. Methodology: A total of 43 patients with dry central pars tensa tympanic membrane perforation were diagnosed through oto-endoscopy during the study. The mean air-bone gap was calculated by assessing each air-bone gap through pure tone audiometry at different frequencies i.e., 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, 2,000 Hz, and 4,000 Hz. Air-bone gap was found to be the average value of these frequencies. The photograph of the tympanic membrane was taken oto-endoscopically, and the ratio between size of the perforation to the entire area of the tympanic membrane was measured. ⋯ Size of perforation, Hearing loss, Air-bone gap, Oto-endoscopy, Conductive deafness, Mastoid pneumatisation.

Meta AnalysisTympanic Cavity Packing in Tympanoplasty Type 1: A Meta-Analysis.
Packing of tympanic cavity is generally considered an essential step in myringoplasty. However, each packing material comes with one or another side effect. The objective of this meta-analysis was to compare the results of Type 1 myringoplasty with or without packing. ⋯ Type 1 tympanoplasty performed with or without packing show comparable results in terms of graft uptake and functional success rate. However, if performed without packing, it takes shorter time, provides early hearing improvement and causes less aural fullness. Key Words: Tympanoplasty Type 1, Packing, Gelfoam, No-packing, Meta-analysis, Endoscopic myringoplasty.

Traumatic Tympanic Membrane Perforation in Children: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
TTraumatic perforation of the tympanic membrane in pediatric population is often encountered in primary otolaryngologic clinics or in the emergency department. The objective of the study was to find out the clinical presentation of traumatic tympanic membrane perforation in the pediatric population. ⋯ Traumatic perforation of the tympanic membrane resulted mostly from the blunt force trauma especially in male children.

A New Method in Transcanal Medial Grafting Type-I Cartilage Tympanoplasty.
To determine the surgical results of a modified technique for the tympanic membrane (TM) perforation repair and to compare this new technique with the traditional methods. ⋯ Type-I cartilage, Tympanoplasty, Transcanal medial grafting, Tympanomeatal flap elevation.
