Case Reports
Vitreous hemorrhage as an early sign of acute bacterial endophthalmitis following intravitreal ranibizumab injection.
To report a case of acute bacterial endophthalmitis after antivascular endothelial growth factor injection with a rare presentation of vitreous hemorrhage. ⋯ Vitreous hemorrhage may be an atypical presentation of acute bacterial endophthalmitis occurring after intravitreal injection.

Anterior scleritis following intravitreal injections in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis: A case report.
Surgically induced scleritis is a rare complication following ophthalmologic surgery such as cataract surgery, pterygium excision, strabismus surgery, and retinal detachment repair. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the connective tissue disease most commonly associated with scleritis. ⋯ Surgically induced scleritis can also be induced by not only major surgical trauma but also by relatively minor trauma such as intravitreal injection (especially in patients who have connective tissue disease such as RA).

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyOcular pain after intravitreal injection.
To evaluate the efficacy of different anesthetics and topical anti-inflammatory treatment in patients undergoing intravitreal injections (IVI). ⋯ Topical tetracaine and lidocaine provide similar anesthesia before IVI. Topical diclofenac does not seem to reduce pain scores after IVI.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of music therapy on intravitreal injections: a randomized clinical trial.
To investigate the effects of music therapy on anxiety, perceived pain, and satisfaction in patients undergoing intravitreal injections in the outpatient setting. ⋯ Classical music before and during intravitreal injections decreases anxiety in patients without decreasing pain. Most patients desire to have music during future injections. Music therapy is a low-cost, easy, safe intervention that reduces anxiety during intravitreal injections in the outpatient setting.
