Over the last decade, there have been important developments in the treatment of lymphoproliferative disorders. Apart from conventional chemotherapy, a wide array of therapies has been developed, with different indications. The aim of this review is to evaluate the risk of infection associated with these therapies, as well as establishing prevention recommendations. ⋯ Brentuximab, lenalidomide and histone deacetylase inhibitors do not seem to be associated with a higher risk of infections. Although data are scarce, a higher number of infections have been observed with cellular therapies, mostly in patients with more than 3 previous antineoplastic treatments or those receiving tocilizumab or corticosteroids for managing the cytokine release syndrome. In all patients, we recommend appropriate vaccination, screening for latent infections, and individualized prophylaxis recommendations.

Cluster headache (CR) is the most severe human headache and is chronic in 10%-20% of patients, and 10% can become refractory to all effective drugs. In this scenario, surgical procedures are indicated: radiofrequencies of the sphenopalatine ganglion ipsilateral to pain (RF-SPG), bilateral stimulation of the occipital nerves (NOM-S) and deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the ipsilateral posterior hypothalamus. The efficacy and safety of each of these procedures has been specifically analyzed, but the progress of a series of patients following this surgical route in order of aggressiveness has not been described. ⋯ The sequential application of these three surgical procedures succeeded in reversing the serious situation of chronic CR refractory to an episodic CR in 93% of patients with acceptable surgical morbidity.
