Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy of methylphenidate in the rehabilitation of attention following traumatic brain injury: a randomised, crossover, double blind, placebo controlled inpatient trial.
Most previous studies evaluating the use of methylphenidate following traumatic brain injury (TBI) have been conducted many years post-injury. This study evaluated the efficacy of methylphenidate in facilitating cognitive function in the inpatient rehabilitation phase. ⋯ Methylphenidate enhances information processing speed in the inpatient rehabilitation phase following TBI. This trial is registered with the Australian New Zealand Clinical Trials Registry (12607000503426).

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyBotulinum neurotoxin versus tizanidine in upper limb spasticity: a placebo-controlled study.
While spasticity is commonly treated with oral agents or botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) injection, these treatments have not been systematically compared. ⋯ BoNT is safer and more effective than TZD in reducing tone and disfigurement in upper-extremity spasticity, and may be considered as first-line therapy for this disorder.

Randomized Controlled TrialEpidural blood patch in post dural puncture headache: a randomised, observer-blind, controlled clinical trial.
To determine the efficacy of epidural blood patch (EDBP) for the treatment of post dural puncture headache (PDPH). ⋯ EDBP is an effective treatment for PDPH. It offers complete resolution of symptoms in a large proportion of patients. In the remaining patients, it reduces headache severity and allows them to return to their everyday activities.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative StudyEvolution of different MRI measures in patients with active relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis over 2 and 5 years: a case-control study.
There is growing evidence for the concept of multiple sclerosis (MS) as an inflammatory neurodegenerative disease, with a different pattern of atrophy evolution in grey matter (GM) and white matter (WM) tissue compartments. ⋯ Our study confirmed a different pattern of GM, WM and central atrophy progression over 2 years between patients with MS and NCs. The study showed a different evolution of tissue compartment atrophy measures in patients with MS, with faster decline in cortical and deep GM regions, as well as periventricular WM regions, over a 5-year period.

Randomized Controlled TrialGabapentin for prevention of hypobaric hypoxia-induced headache: randomized double-blind clinical trial.
High-altitude headache (HAH) is a hypobaric hypoxia-induced symptom that is commonly experienced by newcomers to high-altitude areas. ⋯ Gabapentin was effective for the prevention of HAH and had satisfactory tolerability.
