Prevalence, predictors and age-related sexual and erectile dysfunction in patients with inflammatory bowel disease: a tertiary center experience.
The impact of sexuality and quality of life (QOL) is one of the main concerns of IBD. Despite the obvious relevance of this problem, knowledge of the extent of sexual dysfunction (SD) in IBD is limited. Aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of SD and erectile dysfunction (ED), QOL their predictors, and their age-related dynamic in IBD patients. ⋯ Quality of sex life is a serious concern among IBD patients and is age related. Components that play a role in sexual functioning in IBD require more clarification and further development of screening and treatment guidelines for SD to provide better care in the IBD population.

Neurologists' attitudes and options for anticoagulation therapy in central China.
We aim to find out the factors affecting the use of anticoagulants and the intensity of their choices, and to establish a basis for improving neurologists' effective implementation of the guidelines. ⋯ There are still some gaps with the guidelines on the choice of anticoagulant drugs. Neurologists have positive attitude towards anticoagulant therapy and a strong willingness to learn, but the corresponding training is lacking. Continuous professional training is necessary.

Screening for patients with Gaucher's disease using routine pathology results: PATHFINDER (ferritin, alkaline phosphatase, platelets) study.
Lysosomal β-glucocerebrosidase A (GBA) deficiency causes Gaucher disease (GD), a recessive disorder caused by bi-allelic mutations in GBA. The prevalence of GD is associated with ethnicity but largely unknown and potentially underestimated in many countries. GD may manifest with organomegaly, bone involvement, and neurological symptoms as well as abnormal laboratory biomarkers. This study attempted to screen for GD in patients using abnormal platelet, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and ferritin results from laboratory databases. ⋯ Pathology databases hold routine information that can be used to screen for patients with inherited errors of metabolism. However, biochemical screening using mean platelets, ALP, and ferritin has a low yield for unidentified cases of GD.

Clinical Research of Insulin Glargine U300 basal-bolus therapy and Insulin Degludec/Aspart Co-Formulation in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Real World Experience (CRIGDA Study).
Insulin degludec/aspart (IDegAsp) and insulin glargine U300 (IGlarU300) have recently emerged as popular new-generation insulin analogues. The aim of this real-life study was to investigate the patient profiles in which IGlarU300 and IDegAsp were preferred and the insulin combinations after which each of them were mostly used and also to analyse the effect of these two insulin analogues on blood glucose regulation and hypoglycaemia. ⋯ Both twice-daily IDegAsp ± bolus insulin and IGlarU300 basal bolus insulin therapies are effective and safe treatment modalities.

This study aimed to examine the relationship between urolithiasis and gastric wall fat halo sign (FHS). ⋯ A statistically significant relationship was found between urinary stone disease and gastric wall FHS.
