Association of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) serum level and gene rs10247158 polymorphism with anthropometric, biochemical parameters and food consumption in overweight/obese patients.
Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) plays a role in xenobiotic metabolism, which can be also activated by dietary patterns and components. AhR ligands in circulation are reported to induce weight gain, glucose intolerance and suggested to contribute to the development of obesity. In this study, we aimed to examine the relationship of the AhR gene and its polymorphisms with obesity and food consumption. ⋯ In our study, the serum AhR levels of the overweight/obese individuals were found to be significantly higher. Some dietary patterns were determined to be correlated with serum AhR levels in overweight/obese group. However, the results need to be confirmed for ethnic differences and larger samples.

Association of plant-based diet index with inflammatory markers and sleep quality in overweight and obese female adults: A cross-sectional study.
Inflammation and sleep disturbances increase the risk of multiple diseases, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and dementia. Since diet plays a significant role in inflammatory responses and sleep quality, this study aimed to investigate the association of a plant-based diet index (PDI) with sleep quality and inflammatory markers in overweight and obese women. ⋯ Our findings indicated a significant association between adherence to a plant-based diet with inflammation and sleep quality in obese and overweight females. WHAT IS ALREADY KNOWN ABOUT THIS TOPIC?: Sleep is an essential part of life, and sleep quality has a significant impact on individual well-being and performance. There is a bidirectional relationship between disturbed sleep and elevated levels of inflammatory markers. Diet plays a major part in sleep quality and its related health consequences. Plant-based diets are associated with lower risk of chronic diseases such as coronary artery disease (CAD), type 2 diabetes, obesity and reduced level of inflammation. WHAT DOES THIS ARTICLE ADD?: Adherence to a healthful plant-based diet is associated with lower level of hs-CRP, while adherence to an unhealthful plant-based diet is associated with higher concentrations of hs-CRP. Adherence to an unhealthful plant-based diet is associated with lower sleep quality.

Parents' willingness and attitudes concerning the COVID-19 vaccine: A cross-sectional study.
This study aimed to evaluate the parents' willingness and attitudes concerning the COVID-19 vaccine. ⋯ Parents' willingness for their children to receive the COVID-19 vaccine was low. The only characteristics of either parents or children found to affect the parents' willingness for children to receive the COVID-19 vaccine was the parents being healthcare workers. Parents' willingness and positive attitudes towards the COVID-19 vaccine are factors that increase acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine for their children.

Voiding Dysfunctions in Patients with Non-Hunner's Ulcer Interstitial Cystitis/ Bladder Pain Syndrome Do Not Affect Long-term Treatment Outcome.
The role of urodynamic study in the diagnosis and prognostication of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) is still controversial. This study evaluated the correlation of the baseline voiding dysfunctions and long-term treatment outcome in patients with non-Hunner's ulcer IC (NHIC). ⋯ VUDS can disclose voiding dysfunction in 39.3% of NHIC patients. With adequate therapy, the voiding dysfunctions in NHIC patients do not affect long-term treatment outcome.
