Comparative Efficacy of Neuromodulation Technologies for Overactive Bladder in Adults: A Network Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
The aim of this study was to investigate the comparative efficacy of neuromodulation technologies for overactive bladder (OAB) syndrome in adults. ⋯ Neuromodulation technologies, including PTNS, TTNS, VES, SNM, and PS, may be effective and safe solutions for OAB syndrome in adults. Moreover, SNM is the most efficacious regimen for OAB-related quality of life, urinary episodes, and urinary frequency. PTNS and TTNS are the most efficacious modalities for reducing urgency incontinence episodes and the number of pads, respectively. Future studies should pay more attention to the quality of study design and report, patients who may benefit the most from neuromodulation, and the long-term effect, cost-effectiveness, and satisfaction of neuromodulation.

Deep Brain Stimulation for Guanine Nucleotide-Binding Protein Alpha-Activating Activity Polypeptide O-associated Dystonia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Guanine nucleotide-binding protein alpha-activating activity polypeptide O (GNAO1) syndrome, a rare congenital monogenetic disorder, is characterized by a neurodevelopmental syndrome and the presence of dystonia. Dystonia can be very pronounced and even lead to a life-threatening status dystonicus. In a small number of pharmaco-refractory cases, deep brain stimulation (DBS) has been attempted to reduce dystonia. In this study, we summarize the current literature on outcome, safety, and outcome predictors of DBS for GNAO1-associated dystonia. ⋯ Pallidal DBS can be efficacious and safe in GNAO1-associated dystonia.

Cervical Spinal Cord Stimulation for the Treatment of Headache Disorders: A Systematic Review.
Chronic headache remains a major cause of disability and pain worldwide. Although the literature has extensively described pharmacologic options for headache treatment and prophylaxis, there remains a paucity of data on the efficacy of neuromodulation interventions for treatment of headache unresponsive to conventional pharmacologic therapy. The primary aim of this review was to appraise the literature for the efficacy of cervical spinal cord stimulation (cSCS) in treating any intractable chronic headache, including migraine headaches (with or without aura), cluster headache, tension headache, and other types of headaches. ⋯ Our review suggests promising data from observational studies that cSCS may be helpful in decreasing frequency and intensity of chronic intractable headache. Future well-powered, randomized controlled trials are needed.

Gastric Electrical Stimulation for the Treatment of Gastroparesis or Gastroparesis-like Symptoms: A Systemic Review and Meta-analysis.
The effects of gastric electrical stimulation are not fully understood. We aimed to assess the efficacy of gastric electrical stimulation (GES) for patients with gastroparesis and gastroparesis-like symptoms. ⋯ GES appears beneficial, with significant improvement in GI TSS, weekly vomiting frequency, gastric emptying study, and quality of life.
