Neurosurgical Management of Spinal Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma: Systematic Review & Illustrative Case Presentation.
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a rare vascular tumor predominantly arising in soft tissue. We report a rare case of thoracic spinal EHE with pulmonary metastasis. ⋯ EHE is an exceedingly rare tumor that may present with a wide swath of clinical symptoms. At present, no guidelines or formal treatment recommendations have been established. Surgical debulking has demonstrated efficacy as a front-line treatment, particularly in the setting of compressive neurologic dysfunction; data regarding adjuvant chemoradiation are less consistently reported, mandating further study.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a significant public health issue, leading to physical, psychological, and social complications. Machine learning (ML) algorithms have shown potential in diagnosing and predicting the functional and neurologic outcomes of subjects with SCI. ML algorithms can predict scores for SCI classification systems and accurately predict outcomes by analyzing large amounts of data. This systematic review aimed to examine the performance of ML algorithms for diagnosing and predicting the outcomes of subjects with SCI. ⋯ ML and deep learning (DL) have shown great potential in various aspects of SCI. ML and DL algorithms have been employed multiple times in predicting and diagnosing patients with SCI. While there are studies on diagnosing acute SCI using DL algorithms, further research is required in this area.

Racial Disparities in Glioblastoma Genomic Alterations: A Comprehensive Analysis of a Multi-institution Cohort of 2,390 patients.
Although molecular biomarkers have significantly advanced precision oncology in glioblastoma, the prevalence of these biomarkers by race remains underexplored. This study aims to characterize the genomic alterations in glioblastoma across Asian, Black, and White patients, offering insights into racial disparities that may influence treatment outcomes and disease progression. ⋯ This study identifies significant racial disparities in the alteration frequencies of 6 key glioblastoma genes: NRAS, TP53, MTOR, TET2, PTEN, and RET. These findings underscore the need for racial considerations in glioblastoma treatment strategies and highlight potential avenues for targeted therapeutic interventions. Further research is needed to explore the clinical implications of these genomic disparities.

Critical knowledge gaps and future priorities regarding the intestinal barrier damage after TBI.
The analysis aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape of research on the Intestinal barrier damage after traumatic brain injury (TBI), elucidate specific mechanisms, and address knowledge gaps to help guide the development of targeted therapeutic interventions and improve outcomes for individuals with TBI. A total of 2756 relevant publications by 13,778 authors affiliated within 3198 institutions in 79 countries were retrieved from the Web of Science. These publications have been indexed by 1139 journals and cited 158, 525 references. ⋯ Keyword co-occurrence network analysis revealed several hotspots in this field, including the microbiome-gut-brain axis, endoplasmic reticulum stress, cellular autophagy, ischemia-reperfusion, tight junctions, and intestinal permeability. The analysis of keyword citation bursts suggested that ecological imbalance and gut microbiota may be the forefront of future research. The findings of this study can serve as a reference and guiding perspective for future research in this field.

The Clinical and Radiological Outcomes of the Multimodal Use of The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) Device: A Large Multicentre Study.
The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) is a device used for intrasaccular flow diversion, designed for the elimination of wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms from the circulation. In this study, we aim to assess the safety and efficacy of the WEB and its uses in treating aneurysms of different morphologies and locations. ⋯ Our multicenter trial reinforces the WEB device's role as an effective and safe modality for intracranial aneurysm management, supporting its expanded application beyond wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms. Further prospective studies are required to delineate its evolving role fully.
