Venous angioma is an extremely rare vascular malformation of the epidural space. To the best of our knowledge, only 5 cases have been documented to date and none has been reported in the setting of a previous malignancy. ⋯ Venous angioma should be included in the differential diagnosis of spinal epidural masses even in case of previous malignancy. Subtle imaging features should alert clinicians to this rare yet potentially life-threatening condition. Surgery remains the cornerstone of the treatment and can result in remarkable recovery.

Effectiveness of superficial temporal artery-to-middle cerebral artery anastomosis in treating Moyamoya disease by reducing endothelial progenitor cells.
To explore the effectiveness of superficial temporal artery-to-middle cerebral artery (STA-MCA) anastomosis in treating moyamoya disease (MMD). ⋯ STA-MCA anastomosis can reduce the number of EPCs in MMD patients, lower the risk of rebreeding, and improve cerebral ischemic attacks.

The Long-term Effect of Flow Diversion on Large and Giant Aneurysms: An MRI-DSA-Clinical Correlation Study.
The long-term effect of flow diversion (FD) on aneurysms has not been well studied. ⋯ Most aneurysms treated with Pipeline decreased in size, correlating with clinical improvement. Some aneurysms remained unchanged on MRI until a later time point despite early DSA occlusion. It may be reasonable to eliminate early postprocedural imaging and start follow-up only as late as 1 year after FD treatment in clinically stable, asymptomatic patients.

Is Carotid Revascularization Safe for Patients with Concomitant Carotid Stenosis and Intracranial Aneurysms?
The safety of carotid revascularization in patients with concomitant extracranial carotid stenosis and cerebral aneurysm is rarely reported. We examine the risk of subarachnoid hemorrhage, aneurysm growth, ipsilateral transient ischemic attack, or stroke after revascularization in patients with both carotid stenosis and cerebral aneurysms. ⋯ Our study suggests that revascularization procedures for carotid stenosis should be considered safe and effective in patients with concomitant extracranial carotid occlusive disease and cerebral aneurysms.

With vertebral compression fractures (VCF), height loss has been associated with kyphotic deformity and intractable pain, 2 indications for potential surgical intervention. Consequently, assessment of factors associated with continual height loss can provide insights regarding management. Computed tomography (CT) Hounsfield units (HU), a measure of radiodensity, have been implicated for the assessment of bone quality. No studies have assessed the relationship between CT HU and traumatic VCF. Consequently, the objective of this study was to evaluate this relationship. ⋯ Age, BMI, and CT HU values are independent predictors of worsening VCF. These factors can help determine appropriate clinical follow-up and need for surgical intervention.
