Review Meta AnalysisCurrent dietary advice and challenges for adolescents.
The major risk factors driving the global burden of disease are diet related. Adolescence presents a window of opportunity for establishing healthy dietary trajectories. Yet around the world, adolescents experience many barriers that prevent them from consuming diets that would give them the foundation for long, healthy and productive adult lives. ⋯ Future research should focus on vulnerable adolescent populations by addressing food environments, food insecurity and ensuring effective programmes and strategies are integrated within broader adolescent health strategies and implemented into government policies.

Meta AnalysisArthroscopic primary repair of the anterior cruciate ligament in adults: a systematic review.
The most common procedure to manage a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is surgical reconstruction. Primary repair of the ACL is returning on the forefront in the management of acute ACL, aiming to be less invasive and preserve the original ligament. Several techniques have been reported; the present systematic review investigates the clinical outcomes of ACL primary repair in adults. ⋯ The overall good results were reported also for other techniques are not supported by adequate evidence. More and better trials are required to improve our knowledge and understanding in this controversial area.

Meta Analysis Comparative StudyCore decompression versus other joint preserving treatments for osteonecrosis of the femoral head: a meta-analysis.
Osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) leads to hip osteoarthritis (HOA); among joint preserving treatments (JPT), the role of core decompression (CD) is still debated. We assessed the efficacy of CD compared with all other JPT in delaying the natural osteonecrosis evolution to HOA. ⋯ Further studies are needed to identify the best therapeutic approach to the ONFH.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyVolar locking plates versus K-wire/pin fixation for the treatment of distal radial fractures: a systematic review and quantitative synthesis.
Volar locking plate and Kirschner wire/pin fixations are the most commonly used methods for surgical fixation of distal radius fractures. ⋯ There is a need for more randomized trials performing standardized measurements at fixed follow-up, with results divided by subtypes of distal radius fractures.

Review Meta AnalysisNo difference between unicompartmental versus total knee arthroplasty for the management of medial osteoarthtritis of the knee in the same patient: a systematic review and pooling data analysis.
One-third of patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) has involvement of only one compartment, especially the medial one. ⋯ Large, multicentre, powered, randomized trials comparing UKA and TKA are needed to identify the best management for medial OA of the knee. Moreover, new score systems for satisfaction of the patient should be formulated.
