Epidural fibrosis is one of the problems that can be seen after spinal surgery. The aim of this study was to investigate the possible preventive role of medical ozone (O) treatment on epidural fibrosis. ⋯ Histological results suggest that medical O treatment after L can be used as an alternative method to prevent epidural fibrosis. Further studies with wide cohorts and interval measures are required to detail the effects of doses.

Nephrotic syndrome is the most common glomerular disease of childhood. Majority of the idiopathic cases frequently respond to steroid therapy and are regarded as steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome. Several studies have reported a change in this usual pattern to steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome in Nigerian children. This study aimed to determine the pattern of steroid sensitivity and steroid resistance in childhood idiopathic nephrotic syndrome seen at a tertiary hospital in Enugu, south-east Nigeria. ⋯ Although the prevalence of steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome is higher in this clime, there is a rising incidence of steroid-resistant pattern attributed to incident cases of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.

Over 70% of Nigeria's population is poor and rural, and most lack financial risk protection against ill health. Community-based health insurance (CBHI) may be an essential intervention strategy for ensuring that quality healthcare reaches the informal and rural populations. ⋯ This community demand analysis shows that rural and peri-urban community members are open to using a contributory mechanism for their health care, raising the prospect of establishing CBHI. To achieve universal health coverage, policy measures need to be taken to promote participation, provide financial and non-financial incentives and ensure that the service delivery mechanism is affordable and accessible. Further studies are needed to explore ways to encourage participation and enrollment in CBHI and other contributory schemes among under-served populations and improve access to and utilization of healthcare services.

Erbium, chromium:Yttrium-scandium-gallium-garnet (Er, Cr:YSGG) laser versus diode laser in the treatment of pericoronitis.
There are limited number of studies about the lasers used for the treatment of pericoronitis infection. ⋯ Er, Cr:YSGG laser improved the healing process in the treatment of pericoronitis and made an important contribution to the treatment.

Relationship between health literacy and maternal bonding: A prospective cross-sectional study.
Maternal bonding has an effect on the baby throughout its life. The effective and complete occurrence of the mother-baby bond depends on many factors which can be individual or environmental. Health literacy plays an important role in the health behaviors of individuals, the prevention of diseases, and the improvement of health. Health literacy is a key determinant of medical-related issues. ⋯ Factors that may affect maternal bonding, which affects a baby's entire life, should be addressed by the authorities and necessary improvements would be useful. We believe that this previously unexplored study will pave the way for multicenter similar studies.
