Clinical TrialClinical evaluation of the Baska Mask(®) laryngeal mask in adult patients in ambulatory surgery.
To evaluate the clinical performance of the Baska Mask, a new second-generation supraglottic airway device with a self-inflating cuff and two side suction channels for continuous aspiration. ⋯ The Baska Mask achieves a high seal pressure, effective ventilation, and a quick access to drain gastric contents. However, additional adjustment maneuvers are frequently required to insert the mask and to optimize ventilation.

Observational StudyLocation of the sciatic nerve at the popliteal fossa in the adult population: Relationship with gender and anthropometric data studied. Implications for daily practice.
To determine whether the location of the sciatic nerve (SN) at the popliteal fossa is related to anthropometric variables in the adult population, and to identify possible anatomical variations and their possible implications for clinical practice. ⋯ The depth and laterality of SN are independent of gender, weight and height. The depth at which the SN is located at the level of the popliteal fossa is related to the diameter of the thigh. The bifurcation of SN in popliteal fossa is not related to height.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of the hemodynamic response to induction and intubation during a target-controlled infusion of propofol with 2 different pharmacokinetic models. A prospective ramdomized trial.
Determine the best propofol pharmacokinetic model that meets patient requirements and is devoid of major haemodynamic side effects. ⋯ The study failed to demonstrate any haemodynamic difference between the 2 groups, even though the Modified Marsh group received a larger dose of propofol.
