MRI is crucial for multiple sclerosis (MS), but the relative value of portable ultra-low field MRI (pULF-MRI), a technology that holds promise for extending access to MRI, is unknown. We assessed white matter lesion (WML) detection on pULF-MRI compared to high-field MRI (HF-MRI), focusing on blinded assessments, assessor self-training, and multiplanar acquisitions. ⋯ With adequate training, radiological interpretation of pULF-MRI has high sensitivity and positive predictive value for MS lesions but should be approached conservatively. These results suggest utility for patient triage, potentially reducing diagnostic delay, and screening high-risk individuals.

Hospital Teaching Status and Outcomes in Type B Aortic Dissection: Analysis of More Than 40,000 Patients.
To assess the association of hospital teaching status with outcomes of patients presenting with type B aortic dissection (TBAD). ⋯ Hospital teaching status alone was not associated with in-hospital mortality or 30-day readmission in TBAD patients. At teaching hospitals, management by TEVAR and greater hospital volume were associated with in-hospital mortality and 30-day readmission outcome, respectively.

Brief Risk Communication for Emergency Department Patients With Sustained Asymptomatic Hypertension.
Sustained asymptomatic hypertension in ED patients is a powerful predictor of chronic uncontrolled hypertension. In this study, we assess the feasibility of using a storyboard video and communicating real-time cardiovascular imaging results on blood pressure control and primary care engagement. ⋯ The Brief Risk Communication for ED patientswith sustained asymptomatic hypertension study demonstrates the feasibility and acceptability of using a brief video and real-time cardiovascular imaging for risk communication in the emergency department. Future research will build on these findings with a larger, more comprehensive study.

Despite numerous surveys on traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) and their impact on people in Taiwan, only a few directly assessed the perspectives of the users and their experiences with the practice. In this study, we aimed to explore the attitudes, experiences, and understanding of TCMs, and also to identify the TCMs that are commonly preferred among people in Taiwan. ⋯ People in Taiwan who participated in the survey had a relatively positive impression of and experience with TCMs, but there were still some knowledge gaps that need to be filled with additional information. It is essential to strengthen the publicity and education about TCMs and improve the public's understanding and correct use of TCMs.

Post-cardiac arrest care advancements have improved resuscitation outcomes, but many survivors still face severe neurological deficits or death from brain injury. Herein, we propose a consistent prognosis prediction approach using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to analyze anatomical regions represented by the gray and white matter, and subsequently apply it on computed tomography (CT) to calculate the gray-white matter ratio (GWR). We compared this novel method with traditional measures to validate its ability to predict the prognosis of patients resuscitated after cardiac arrest. ⋯ Our study introduces a novel method for measuring GWR using MRI-based brain CT, demonstrating superior prognostic accuracy in predicting neurological outcomes in patients with post-cardiac arrest syndrome compared to traditional methods.
