Practice Guideline Retraction Of Publication
TEMPORARY REMOVAL: Canadian Association of Gastroenterology CLINICAL Practice Guideline For Immunizations in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Part 2: Inactivated Vaccines.
Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may be at increased risk of some vaccine-preventable diseases. The effectiveness and safety of vaccinations may be altered by immunosuppressive therapies or IBD itself. These recommendations developed by the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology and endorsed by the American Gastroenterological Association, aim to provide guidance on immunizations in adult and pediatric patients with IBD. This publication focused on live vaccines. ⋯ Maintaining appropriate vaccination status in patients with IBD is critical to optimize patient outcomes. In general, live vaccines are recommended in patients not on immunosuppressive therapy, but not for those using immunosuppressive medications. Additional studies are needed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of live vaccines in patients on immunosuppressive therapy.

This article focuses on compassionate discharge from an ICU setting for pediatric patients. ⋯ Although many children die in an ICU setting, some families desire end-of-life care in a nonhospital setting, often at home. For children dependent on technology, there are considerable logistical challenges to overcome, and it may not always be possible. However, with meticulous planning and close collaboration between intensive care staff, palliative care staff, and other community services, compassionate discharge can be done successfully and provide the child and family the opportunity for end-of-life care in the place most meaningful to them.

Retraction Of PublicationInternational Children's Palliative Care Network: A Global Action Network for Children with Life-Limiting Conditions.
The International Children's Palliative Care Network (ICPCN) is a global network of individuals and organizations working together to reach the estimated 21 million children with life-limiting conditions and life-threatening illnesses. The drive to establish the ICPCN was born from the recognition of the gaps in service provision for children's palliative care and the need to collaborate, network, and share resources. Established in 2005 during a meeting in Seoul, South Korea, the ICPCN has developed over the years into an established network with a global membership. ⋯ Working in collaboration with others, ICPCN has five key focus areas: Communication; Advocacy; Research; Education; and Strategic development, and is the only international charity working globally for the rights of children with palliative care needs. Activities in these areas are discussed, along with the inter-connection between the five areas. Without the ICPCN, palliative care for children would not have developed as far as it has over the years and the organization is committed to ongoing work in this area until all children requiring palliative care have access to quality services, wherever they live around the world.

'The association of hypotension with the insertion of an abdominal retractor during lower abdominal surgery in pediatric patients: a retrospective observational study' by Rika Nakayama, Takahiro Mihara, Yoshihisa Miyamoto & Koui Ka.1 The above article from Pediatric Anesthesia, published online on July 7, 2015 in Wiley Online Library (http://wileyonlinelibrary.com) has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the Journal Editor in Chief, Andrew Davidson, and John Wiley & Sons Ltd. The retraction has been agreed following a review of the study data by the authors, which found that cases not satisfying the inclusion criteria were included and that there were data collection errors with respect to the patients' ages and sexes. As a result, the authors judged that the reproducibility of the results could not be guaranteed and have requested retraction. ⋯ Nakayama R, Mihara T, Miyamoto Y, Ka K.
