Previous research has shown that visual impairment results in reduced audio, tactile and proprioceptive ability. One hypothesis is that these issues arise from inaccurate body representations. Few studies have investigated metric body representations in a visually impaired population. ⋯ Our results showed thatblind participants overestimated their hands and feetto a similar degree. Sighted controls overestimated their hands significantly more than their feet. Taken together, our results partially support our hypothesis and suggest that visual deprivation, even for short periods result in hand size overestimation.

The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (TCDC) initiated longitudinal sero-epidemiological surveillance of avian influenza viruses (AIVs) targeting poultry workers exposed on affected farms since 2021. Convalescent-phase serum samples were collected from these workers 21-28 days post-outbreak identification. TCDC recontacted participants in subsequent years for repeat serological sampling. ⋯ HI titers against AIV A/H5 2.3.4.4c remained low from 2021 to 2023. For AIV A/H5 2.3.4.4b, HI titer remained low from 2021 to 2022 but increased in more than half of the participants (60%, 72/120) in 2023. This change parallels the increasing AIV A/H5 2.3.4.4b burden indicated by increased outbreaks and warrants continuous monitoring.

Diagnostic errors in health care pose significant risks to patient safety and are disturbingly common. In the emergency department (ED), the chaotic and high-pressure environment increases the likelihood of these errors, as emergency clinicians must make rapid decisions with limited information, often under cognitive overload. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers promising solutions to improve diagnostic errors in three key areas: information gathering, clinical decision support (CDS), and feedback through quality improvement. ⋯ Developing, validating, and implementing AI as a safe, human-centered ED tool requires thoughtful design and meticulous attention to ethical and practical considerations. Clinicians and patients must be integrated as key stakeholders across these processes. Ultimately, AI should be seen as a tool that assists clinicians by supporting better, faster decisions and thus enhances patient outcomes.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Efficacy and safety of mirikizumab in patients with moderately-to-severely active Crohn's disease: a phase 3, multicentre, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled and active-controlled, treat-through study.
Mirikizumab, a humanised monoclonal antibody that inhibits IL-23p19, is effective in moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of mirikizumab in patients with moderately-to-severely active Crohn's disease. ⋯ Eli Lilly and Company.
