The outbreak of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) seriously affects humans' health worldwide physically and mentally. Studies revealed that the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) increased under this condition. PTSD can change the structure of patients' central nervous system, and increase the risk of anxiety or depression, thus greatly affecting the quality of patients' life and their families. PTSD is preventable, and the effects of early prevention are better. Non-drug intervention can prevent or reduce the psychological sequelae after hospitalization, help patients understand the experience during hospitalization, and be beneficial to their psychological rehabilitation. Whether smartphone app based intervention can be an alternative therapy for PTSD in terms of COVID-19 convalescent patients is still controversial. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis and systematic review to evaluate the effects of smartphone app based intervention on PTSD in COVID-19 convalescent patients, so as to provide some guidance for clinical application. ⋯ CRD42021240340.

Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) accounts for the most common complication of early pregnancy in humans. As an immune checkpoint pathway, programmed death-1 (PD-1) and programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) can be exploited by tumor cells to evade immuno-surveillance. Many studies have shown that the expression of PD-1/PD-L1 is involved in RSA. However, the correlation between the expression of PD-1/PD-L1 and RSA is still controversial. We conducted meta-analysis to further explore the correlation between the expression of PD-1/PD-L1 and RSA, to provide a basis for clinical prevention and treatment. ⋯ This study will provide a new theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of RSA.

The high expression of CHD1L and its clinical significance in human solid tumors: A meta-analysis.
Chromodomain helicase DNA-binding protein 1-like (CHD1L) is an oncogene. It was cloned from 1q21 chromosome region of hepatocellular carcinoma in 1991. CHD1L is up-regulated in many kinds of cancers and is involved in the carcinogenesis and development of tumors. More and more studies have shown that over-expression of CHD1L is associated with poor prognosis of tumors. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prognostic value of CHD1L in human solid tumors. ⋯ The high expression of CHD1L is associated with poor OS as well as related to tumor differentiation, tumor size, and distant metastasis, which can be served as a prognostic marker and a potential predictor of clinical pathology in human solid tumors.

Review Meta AnalysisInterventions for treating fractures of the patella in adults.
Fractures of the patella (kneecap) account for around 1% of all human fractures. The treatment of these fractures can be surgical or conservative (such as immobilisation with a cast or brace). There are many different surgical and conservative interventions for treating fractures of the patella in adults. This is an update of a Cochrane Review first published in 2015. ⋯ There is very limited evidence from nine RCTs and two quasi-RCTs on the relative effects of different surgical interventions for treating fractures of the patella in adults. There is no evidence from trials evaluating the relative effects of surgical versus conservative treatment or different types of conservative interventions. Given the very low-quality evidence, we are uncertain whether methods of percutaneous osteosynthesis give better results than conventional open surgery; whether cable pin system (open or percutaneous surgery) gives better results than the tension band technique; and whether biodegradable implants are better than metallic implants for displaced patellar fractures. Further randomised trials are needed, but, to optimise research effort, these should be preceded by research that aims to identify priority questions.

Alpha B-crystallin (CRYAB), as a small heat shock protein, may play critical roles in the tumorigenesis and progression of several kinds of human cancers. However, the prognostic value of CRYAB in solid malignancies remains controversial. The aim of the present study was to investigate the association between CRYAB expression and clinicopathology and prognosis of solid tumor patients. ⋯ CRYAB may serve as a valuable prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target in human solid tumors.
