Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of Safety and Efficacy of Anesthesia Methods in Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy: A Network Meta-Analysis.
Background: The objective of this study was to systematically evaluate the safety and efficacy of local anesthesia, general anesthesia, and epidural anesthesia in percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD). Methods: We searched PubMed, EMBASE, and OVID databases for all relevant studies. All statistical analysis was performed using STATA 17.0. ⋯ Epidural anesthesia is most advantageous in anesthesia satisfaction and postoperative VAS scores. General anesthesia is most advantageous in postoperative ODI. In the future, more multicenter RCTs are needed to further compare the safety and effectiveness of different anesthesia methods in PELD.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
The MAGIC trial: a pragmatic, multicentre, parallel, noninferiority, randomised trial of melatonin versus midazolam in the premedication of anxious children attending for elective surgery under general anaesthesia.
Child anxiety before general anaesthesia and surgery is common. Midazolam is a commonly used premedication to address this. Melatonin is an alternative anxiolytic, however trials evaluating its efficacy in children have delivered conflicting results. ⋯ ISRCTN registry: ISRCTN18296119.

Postoperative Sore Throat among Patients Following General Anesthesia with Endotracheal Intubation in a Tertiary Care Centre.
Postoperative sore throat is the second most common minor adverse event after general anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation. It is an uncomfortable and stressful sequel of tracheal intubation. The incidence of postoperative sore throat varies across different studies and type of anesthesia technique used. The aim of the study was to find out the prevalence of postoperative sore throat following general anaesthesia with endotracheal intubation in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ endotracheal intubation; general anaesthesia; prevalence.

Femoral neck fracture (FNF) seriously impact the health of the elderly and affect their long-term quality of life of the patients. This study aimed to determine whether combining the preoperative Fried Frailty Phenotype (FFP) with serum fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) and run-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) could better predict the prognosis of elderly patients with FNF 3 months after surgery. ⋯ Assessing FFP alongside serum FGFR3 and RUNX2 levels may aid in evaluating the prognosis of elderly patients with FNF 3 months after surgery.
