The effect of different nerve block strategies on the quality of post-operative recovery in breast cancer patients: A randomized controlled study.
To compare the effects of three types of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks on post-operative recovery quality in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy for unilateral breast cancer. ⋯ Serratus anterior combined with transverse thoracic muscle plane block may be a safer, easier, and equally effective nerve block strategy than paravertebral block in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy for unilateral breast cancer.

Duration of analgesia after forefoot surgery compared between an ankle and a sciatic nerve block at the popliteal crease: A randomised controlled single-blinded trial.
Forefoot surgery is associated with severe postoperative pain. Ankle and sciatic nerve blocks provide satisfactory postoperative analgesia after forefoot surgery, but little is known on their respective duration of analgesia. ⋯ Compared with the ankle block, the sciatic nerve block at the popliteal crease does not provide a longer duration of analgesia in patients undergoing forefoot surgery in the setting of multimodal analgesia.

A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials was conducted to assess efficacy and safety of bilateral ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block (ESPB) for postoperative analgesia in patients receiving spine surgery. ⋯ Ultrasound-guided ESPB is an effective adjunctive technique with good tolerability for multimodal analgesia in management of pain in patients undergoing spine surgery.

This study aimed to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. ⋯ Owing to the restricted sample size in this meta-analysis, primarily consisting of descriptive studies, it was imperative to conduct more rigorously designed, multi-center, long-term follow-up, larger sample, and Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) to validate the findings.

Comparison of Spinoglenoid Versus Suprascapular Notch Approaches for Ultrasound-Guided Distal Suprascapular Nerve Blocks for Shoulder Pain: A Prospective Randomized Trial.
Distal suprascapular nerve blocks (SSNB) can be performed at the level of the suprascapular notch (the preferred site) or at the level of the spinoglenoid notch. ⋯ Both distal SSNB approaches significantly improved pain and disability scores in patients with chronic shoulder pain, with no observable differences in the short-to-medium term. SSNB performed at the level of the spinoglenoid notch is therefore not inferior in efficacy and safety to SSNB performed at the level of the suprascapular notch.
