Ultrasound-guided pericapsular nerve block compared with IV opioids in hip injuries: A randomised controlled trial.
The study aimed to compare the analgesic effect of USG-guided PENG (Peri capsular nerve group) block with Intravenous Nalbuphine hydrochloride (IVN) in patients with hip fracture coming to the emergency department (ED). The purpose was also to monitor the adverse effects and rescue analgesic requirements in both treatment modalities. ⋯ The study provides evidence that the ultrasound-guided PENG block has a better analgesic effect and has fewer adverse events than IV opioids in patients with HF.

Hydromorphone combined with ropivacaine for erector spinae plane block in patients undergoing modified radical mastectomy: A prospective randomized controlled trial.
Combining hydromorphone with ropivacaine in ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane blocks enhances postoperative analgesia and reduces interleukin-6 expression in breast surgery patients. ⋯ Hydromorphone combined with ropivacaine for ESPB achieved a greater postoperative analgesic effect for patients receiving MRM under general anesthesia. The combined analgesia caused fewer adverse reactions and inhibited the expression level of the inflammatory factor IL-6 more effectively, thereby facilitating postoperative recovery. ESPB using hydromorphone with ropivacaine improved pain control post-MRM, reduced adverse effects, and more effectively suppressed IL-6, enhancing recovery.

Analgesic effect of ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane block with or without rectus sheath block in laparoscopic cholecystectomy: a randomized, controlled trial.
Ultrasound-guided transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block is commonly used for pain control in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, significant pain persists, affecting patient recovery and sleep quality on the day of surgery. We compared the analgesic effect of ultrasound-guided TAP block with or without rectus sheath (RS) block in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy using the visual analog scale (VAS) scores. ⋯ Both RS-TAP and Bi-TAP blocks provided clinically acceptable pain control in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy, although there was no significant difference between two combination blocks in postoperative analgesia or sleep quality.

Role of scalp nerve block in improving the quality of rehabilitation in patients after meningioma resection: A randomized controlled clinical trial.
In this study, we analyzed whether scalp nerve block with ropivacaine can improve the quality of rehabilitation in patients after meningioma resection. ⋯ Scalp nerve block with ropivacaine significantly improves the quality of short-term postoperative rehabilitation in patients undergoing elective craniotomy for meningioma resection. This is presumably related to the improvements in intraoperative hemodynamics, relief from postoperative pain, and reduction in postoperative nausea and vomiting.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyComparison of migration rates between traditional and tunneled adductor canal block catheters: a randomized controlled trial.
Total knee arthroplasty is associated with significant postoperative pain. Continuous adductor canal blocks via an inserted adductor canal catheter are effective analgesia interventions with the advantage of decreasing quadriceps weakness and the potential of extending the analgesic effect. The classical adductor canal catheter insertion technique may have a high likelihood of catheter dislodgement out of the canal. The interfascial plane between the sartorius muscle and femoral artery (ISAFE) approach has the potential of decreasing the adductor canal catheter migration. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the incidence of catheter dislodgment to outside the adductor canal, for ISAFE and classical approaches. We hypothesized that ISAFE approach would result in a lower dislodgment rate. ⋯ ISAFE group had a significantly lower rate of dislodgement at 24 hours. The continuous adductor canal block analgesic benefit for knee arthroplasty depends on the position of the tip of the catheter inside the adductor canal.
