Review Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Quadratus lumborum block vs. transversus abdominis plane block for postoperative pain control in patients with nephrectomy: A systematic review and network meta-analysis.
This systematic review and network meta-analysis aimed to compare the analgesic efficacy of transversus abdominis plane block (TAPB) and quadratus lumborum block (QLB) on nephrectomy. ⋯ QLB is more likely to be effective in reducing postoperative opioid use than TAPB, whereas both of them are superior to control with regard to the reduction in postoperative pain intensity and PONV.

Quadratus lumborum block vs. transversus abdominis plane block for caesarean delivery: a systematic review and network meta-analysis.
Transversus abdominis plane & quadratus lumborum block both offer equivalent analgesia benefit following caesarean section in the absence of intrathecal morphine, although little or know benefit if intrathecal morphine is used.

Randomized Controlled TrialUltrasound-guided Greater Occipital Nerve Block in Children Undergoing Posterior Fossa Craniotomy: A Randomized, Controlled Trial.
Posterior fossa surgery is commonly associated with severe postoperative pain. This study assessed the impact of ultrasound-guided greater occipital nerve (GON) block on postoperative pain and hemodynamic profiles in pediatric posterior fossa craniotomy. ⋯ In children undergoing posterior fossa craniotomy, GON block was associated with superior quality and duration of postoperative analgesia and better hemodynamic profile compared with standard care.

Meta AnalysisEfficacy and safety of pericapsular nerve group block in total hip arthroplasty: a meta-analysis and systematic review.
Ensuring effective perioperative pain control is a crucial aspect of rehabilitation programs following total hip arthroplasty. This study presents a comprehensive meta-analysis and systematic review to assess the efficacy and safety of pericapsular nerve group block (PENG) in the context of total hip arthroplasty. ⋯ Based on the latest findings, PENG has been shown to effectively decrease pain scores within six and 24 hours following total hip arthroplasty. However, its effectiveness in pain control diminishes after 48 hours. Additionally, PENG has demonstrated the ability to reduce opioid consumption without an accompanying increase in adverse drug events.

Review Meta AnalysisTransversus Thoracic Muscle Plane Block For Postoperative Pain in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery: A Systematic Review And Meta-Analysis of Randomized And Observational Studies.
Pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery usually experience significant surgical pain. Additionally, the effect of poor surgical analgesia creates a pain continuum that extends to the postoperative period. Transversus thoracic muscle plane block (TTMPB) is a novel plane block technique that can provide analgesia to the anterior chest wall. The analgesic role of TTMPB in pediatric cardiac surgery is still uncertain. A meta-analysis was conducted to determine the analgesic efficacy of this procedure. ⋯ Very low- to low-certainty evidence showed that TTMPB in pediatric patients undergoing cardiac surgery may reduce postoperative pain, opioid consumption, ICU length of stay, and extubation time.
