ReviewBibliometric Network Analysis on Rapid-Onset Opioids for Breakthrough Cancer Pain Treatment.
Proper breakthrough cancer pain (BTcP) management is of pivotal importance. Although rapid-acting, oral and nasal transmucosal, fentanyl formulations (rapid-onset opioids, ROOs) are licensed for BTcP treatment, not all guidelines recommend their use. Presumably, some research gaps need to be bridged to produce solid evidence. We present a bibliometric network analysis on ROOs for BTcP treatment. ⋯ In this research area, most articles are published in top-ranked journals. Nevertheless, paramount topics should be better addressed, and the implementation of research networks is needed.

Microneedles composed of arrays of micro-sized needles assembled on a patch, has attracted increasing interest in transdermal drug delivery due to its ease of use and lack of painful responses. Here, a bibliometric analysis was conducted to determine a hotspot and trend of microneedles in the biomedical field. ⋯ This study will help researchers understand the hot spots and trends of microneedles in the biomedical field accurately and quickly. Moreover, the exploitation of novel polymeric microneedles will be a solid direction for subsequent research and development of transdermal drug delivery.

The purpose of our bibliometric analysis was to explore the disciplinary hotspots and collaborative networks in research on neuropathic pain (NPP) during in the past 20 years. ⋯ The research of NPP is a well-developed and prospective field of medical study. The journals Pain, European Journal of Pain, and Molecular Pain showed more interested in this field. The United States, Harvard University, and Ralf Baron were the top country, institution, and author, respectively. Global research collaboration was extensive, with the top institutions and authors cooperating with others.

Gliomas are the most common primary malignant tumor of the central nervous system. At the present time, radiotherapy (RT) is the cornerstone of therapeutic approaches, but the worldwide research trends in RT for gliomas in the world are unclear. This bibliometric analysis aimed to investigate trends in glioma RT research since 2011. ⋯ This bibliometric analysis found an increased focus on glioblastoma, survival, and chemotherapy in glioma RT research.
