Over the last two decades there has been an increase in outbreaks of arboviral diseases, being Spain at high risk for disease emergence. This paper reviews the current evidence regarding the transmissibility, disease epidemiology, control strategies and mosquito-borne disease drivers and maintaining factors in Spain. There is risk of autochthonous cases and outbreaks in Spain due to recent transmission occurrence. ⋯ Their establishment has been facilitated by climate and environmental drivers. If climate change projections are to be met, an increase in disease transmission is to be expected, as well as the re-establishment of other vectors such as Aedes Aegypti. Our review supports the need to understand the threat of these emerging diseases and implement preventive strategies in order to minimise their impact.

Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy has revolutionized the management of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) who are refractory or relapse after immunochemotherapy. This strategy consists in genetically modifying the patient's own T lymphocytes to favor the recognition of selected tumor antigens. ⋯ Both clinical trials and post-marketing real-world data have contributed to better define the efficacy and safety profile of each construct, identifying the main prognostic response factors and improving the management of each step in this therapy. All these aspects are reviewed herein.

Rhabdomyolysis is characterized by the release of intracellular elements after the destruction of skeletal muscle. Is characterized by the presence of muscle pain, weakness, and dark urine, associated with elevated creatine kinase (CK). ⋯ CK values are used for diagnosis and prognosis, being renal dysfunction the most serious complication. Treatment is based on early and intensive fluid therapy to avoid kidney complications.

Iron deficiency anaemia is highly prevalent worldwide. In the surgical patient, anaemia of any cause implies higher morbidity and mortality in the post-operative period. ⋯ Patients with critical ischaemia have higher prevalence of anaemia and it is an indicator of amputation and death in the medium term. Specific protocols need to be developed for these patients since the natural history of their disease does not allow for the correction of anaemia before surgery.

The aim of this article is to summarize published information on systemic infective complications of tattoos to gain an update of the current picture. ⋯ Bacterial bloodstream infections should be considered in subjects developing fever and rigour after tattoos, regardless of local symptoms. A shift in causative organisms has been documented, when comparing with historical reports. NTM are emerging organisms causing lymphadenopathy. Strict hygiene conditions are essential when performing a tattoo.
