Body composition in healthy singleton term infants using the three-dimensional photonic scanning method: A multicenter cross-sectional study.
Body composition is an integral part of the nutritional assessment during infancy as it is closely related to future health. The three-dimensional photonic body surface scanning (3-DPS) method is a promising new technique for measuring body composition in children because of its advantages of easy operation, low cost, and no exposure to radiation. Using 3-DPS, this study aimed to illustrate the growth trajectories of body composition indicators during infancy according to sex and age. ⋯ The body composition of healthy singleton term infants during infancy varies with age; boys may have more FM accumulation than girls.

An overview of current research on nutritional support for burn patients: A bibliometric analysis from 1983 to 2022.
Burn patients are reportedly prone to complications, such as skeletal muscle wasting, anemia, and slow wound healing, during treatment, due to disease and metabolic depletion, which affect prognosis. Nutritional support is essential in treating burns and can significantly improve patient survival and reduce complications such as infection. This study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis of the existing literature on nutritional support for burns and to explore possible future research trends. ⋯ An optimal nutritional support program is essential for treating burn patients. Individualized nutritional support programs are the trend in this field. At present, more rigorous multicenter prospective studies with large samples are needed to explore the optimal ratios for specific dietary programs, especially macronutrients, to achieve satisfactory nutritional support and improve patient prognosis.

Dietary diversity and food variety scores and their association with nutrition and health status of Indian children and adolescents: A multicenter study.
The objectives of this study were to 1) evaluate the dietary diversity scores (DDS) and food variety scores (FVS) among Indian children and adolescents aged 9-18 y; 2) compare the DDS and FVS in association with demographic, socioeconomic, and health characteristics (growth and hemoglobin [Hb] concentrations); and 3) determine DDS and FVS cutoffs to identify dietary micronutrient adequacy. ⋯ Both the DDS and FVS can be used interchangeably for assessing growth, health status, and nutritional adequacy. Single cutoff values of the DDS and FVS may aid in prompt identification of children and adolescents with micronutrient inadequacy.

The ketogenic diet (KD) is one of the main treatments for drug-resistant epilepsy. However, there have been few multicenter reports on the use of the KD for the treatment of Dravet syndrome (DS). The aim of this study was to analyze the efficacy and safety of this approach based on a large number of multicenter cases. ⋯ Real-world, multicenter data analysis showed that the KD is effective for patients with DS and has a low incidence of side effects.

Assessment of dietary supplement consumption among Italian university students: The multicenter DiSCo study.
The aim of this study was to analyze the consumption of dietary supplements (DSs) and related sociodemographic characteristics or behaviors in Italian undergraduates. ⋯ Diet supplementation was common in the sample examined, especially in women, and associated with particular dietary regimens and sports, especially individual sports. Female consumers follow specialists' indications more than males. These results highlight the need for educational interventions about diet supplementation for this category of users.
