Meta AnalysisAssociation of Clinical Parameters and Prognosis with the Pretreatment Systemic Immune-inflammation Index (SII) in Patients with Gastric Cancer.
This study explored the relationship between the pretreatment systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and overall survival (OS) in gastric cancer (GC) patients. A systemic literature search was performed to find out the articles that estimated the relationship of SII with specific clinical parameters and OS in GC patients. Nine articles (including 10 studies) were included. ⋯ The pretreatment SII could be used as an indicator of the depth of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage and overall of gastric cancer patients. However, more multi-centres researches are needed to confirm these findings. Key Words: Systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), Prognosis, Gastric cancer.

Meta AnalysisMeta-analysis of the Value of Cardiac Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in the Diagnosis of Viral Myocarditis.
To evaluate the diagnostic value of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in viral myocarditis by meta-analysis. PubMed, EMbase, Cochrane, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI, China) Wanfang Databases were searched for clinical research literature on MRI diagnosis of viral myocarditis from the establishment of the database to March 1, 2020. The pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, diagnostic odds ratio (DOR) and the summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) were analysed by Stata 15.0. ⋯ Existing research have confirmed that cardiac MRI has high sensitivity (94%) and moderate specificity (75%) for viral myocarditis. The positive ratio of test in myocarditis group is 45.24 times higher than that in non-myocarditis group indicating the outstanding effect of diagnosis and discrimination. Key Words: Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, Viral myocarditis, Systematic review, Meta-analysis.

Meta AnalysisPotentially Resectable mCRC-treated with Cetuximab Combined with Chemotherapy.
Surgical resection of a potentially resectable metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) may lead to additional clinical benefits for the patients. In some cases, patients with initially unresectable lesions can be converted to resectable ones after induction of chemotherapy; and these patients are primarily treated with fluorouracil-based systemic chemotherapy preoperatively. However, the optimal protocol for neoadjuvant therapy has not been determined yet, and it remains a source of controversy about whether systemic chemotherapy combined with cetuximab can increase the surgical resection rate and obtain more clinical benefits. ⋯ Compared with patients undergoing chemotherapy, the patients receiving systemic chemotherapy combined with cetuximab of the R0 resection was not improved (OR=1.25; 95% CI, 0.76-2.06; p=0.08); The progression-free survival (PFS) of the patients received chemotherapy combined with cetuximab was slightly longer than those received chemotherapy alone (HR=0.88; 95% CI, 0.77-1; p=0.005); and the overall survival (OS) of patients undergoing systemic chemotherapy combined with cetuximab was not prolonged relative to that in patients receiving chemotherapy alone (HR=0.98; 95% CI, 0.86-1.11; p=0.04). Compared with patients receiving chemotherapy alone, the surgical resection rate and PFS are not increased in patients undergoing chemotherapy combined with cetuximab, but the OS is slightly prolonged. Key Words: Chemotherapy, Cetuximab, Colorectal cancer, Metastatic tumor, Surgery.

Review Meta AnalysisEfficiency of Thyroid Function Test in the Prediction of Atrial Fibrillation Following Open Heart Surgery.
To analyse the efficiency of thyroid function tests (thyroid stimulating hormone, thyroxine and tri-iodothyronine) on prediction of postoperative atrial fibrillation. ⋯ Preoperative levels of tri-iodothyronine was an effective parameter for predicting postoperative atrial fibrillation after cardiac surgery, but there was a need of larger trials for eliminating heterogeneity for all of the parameters of thyroid function tests. Key Words: Cardiac surgery, Atrial fibrillation, Thyroid stimulating hormone, Thyroxine, Tri-iodothyronine.

Meta AnalysisEffect of General and Non-general Anesthesia on Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction.
ABATRACT Controversy exists in the effect of general anesthesia and non-general anesthesia on postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD). The authors aimed to perform this systematic review to comprehensively assess the effect of general anesthesia or non-general anesthesia on POCD. Relative studies from the online literature database were retrieved. ⋯ In conclusion, when compared with the non-general anesthesia, general anesthesia increases the incidence of POCD in patients within three days after surgery, but makes no difference after seven days. It suggests that early intervention should be conducted on patients undergoing general anesthesia. Key Words: General anesthesia, Postoperative cognitive dysfunction, Meta-analysis.
