Risk of Burnout and Stress in Physicians Working in a COVID Team: A Longitudinal Survey.
The COVID-19 pandemic represents a source of stress and potential burnout for many physicians. This single-site survey aimed at assessing perceived stress and risk to develop burnout syndrome among physicians operating in COVID wards. ⋯ Medical specialty and clinical position could represent risk factors for the development of burnout in a COVID team. In these preliminary results, physicians board-certified in internal medicine showed lower risk of developing EE during the entire course of the study.

Can Red Blood Cell Distribution Width ( RDW) Level Predict The Severity of Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (AECOPD) ?
Elevated red blood cell distribution width (RDW) levels were associated with mortality in patients with stable chronic obstructive lung pulmonary diseases (COPD). There are limited data about RDW levels in acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD). ⋯ Patients with AECOPD, lower RDW values should be considered carefully. Lower RDW can be used for decision of COPD exacerbation severity and follow up treatment response.

Computerized tomography of the Thorax for surgical patients during the COVID-19 pandemic: Was it useful?
Diagnostic challenges during the corona virus disease (COVID-19) pandemic forced the radiology regulating body to adopt the use of CT Chest as a triage and diagnostic tool, which was subsequently abandoned. The Royal Wolverhampton hospital followed both protocols. Here, we investigate the evidence behind this decision within the context of surgical admissions during the COVID-19 peak in our hospital. ⋯ CT Thorax during the pandemic was a good negative predictor but had limited diagnostic value and did not change patient management. Newer, faster techniques of PCR swabs and antibody testing would be a better and cheaper alternative.

Association between α-glucosidase inhibitor use and psoriatic disease risk in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A population-based cohort study.
To investigate the association between the use of alpha-glucosidase inhibitors (AGIs) and the risk of psoriatic disease (ie, psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) treated with metformin. ⋯ This population-based study reports that AGI use and interruption of AGI use may be associated with increased psoriatic disease risk in treated patients with T2DM.

Perioperative adverse events and functional outcomes following open and robot-assisted prostatectomy in patients over age 70.
To evaluate the safety (perioperative adverse events) of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) and functional outcomes (continence and erectile dysfunction) of open and robotic radical prostatectomy in elderly patients. ⋯ The perioperative adverse events are similar in elderly patients undergoing ORRP and in RARP. The continence rates are favourable and reasonable, although the potency rates are low in elderly men who underwent prostatectomy. The results of the present study may be useful for surgeons in their decision making and counselling of elderly patients.
