Serum markers for the early diagnosis of intestinal anastomotic leak after gynaecological operations.
To analyse the serum markers for the early diagnosis of intestinal anastomotic leak (AL) after the gyne-oncological operations. ⋯ Serum PCT and CRP concentrations were not found to be helpful for the early diagnosis of AL in patients operated for gyne-oncological malignancies. Low levels of albumin and platelets in the first days after the operation may be clue for a possible AL.

Observational StudyOvertreatment and undertreatment in a sample of elderly people with diabetes.
In older adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D), overtreatment remains prevalent and undertreatment ignored. The main objective is to estimate the prevalence and examine factors associated with potential overtreatment and undertreatment. ⋯ Potential overtreatment and undertreatment in older adults with T2D in routine clinical practice should guide the clinicians to balance the use of newer oral antidiabetic agents considering its safety profile regarding hypoglycemia.

Association of Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) with Disease Activity and Inflammatory Cytokines in the patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.
This study aimed, at first, to assess Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) in participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and compare them with healthy controls. Then, to evaluate the association of DII with the risk of RA occurrence, the severity of disease, and systemic inflammation. ⋯ An inflammatory diet may act as a potential risk factor contributing to the development of RA and its severity. Therefore, dietary modification with the goal of reducing the DII score could be a beneficial strategy to improve the clinical outcomes in such patients.
