Association between cirrhosis and herpes zoster in a cohort study in Taiwan.
The aim of the study was to assess if an association exists between cirrhosis and herpes zoster in Taiwan. ⋯ Cirrhosis is associated with a small but significant increase in the risk of herpes zoster. Given that the risk of herpes zoster is small and the expense of herpes zoster vaccination is high, whether cirrhotic persons need to be vaccinated should assess the balance of cost and benefit.

The reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the postdialysis fatigue scale.
Haemodialysis (HD) commonly leads to postdialysis fatigue (PDF) and, thus, worsens the quality of life and the clinical outcomes. The aim of this study was to translate, linguistically validate and determine the psychometric properties of the "Postdialysis Fatigue" Scale for Turkish patients with HD. ⋯ A total of 93 patients participated in the study. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of PDF was 0.773. There was a statistically significant relationship between the test and retest scores (ICC: 0.973; P < .001). PDF Scale was acceptable with 11 items. There was a positive correlation with a statistically significant relationship was present between the PDF scores and Piper Fatigue Scale (r = .488; P < .001) and VAS score (r = .656; P < .001). There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the PDF Scale and the postdialysis recovery time (r = .270; P = .009), CONCLUSION: The study results have shown that the Turkish form of the PDF Scale is a valid and reliable tool in patients undergoing HD treatment. Postdialysis recovery time may be used as an indirect measurement method to evaluate PDF.

Incidence, Pre-hospital Delay and Prognosis of Acute Myocardial Infarction in big regions of Hungary: Population Data from the Hungarian Myocardial Infarction Registry.
To examine the incidence and treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) as well as 30-day and 1-year prognoses of patients in different regions of Hungary. According to the statistical system of the European Union, Hungary can be divided into three major socio-economic regions-west Hungary, central Hungary and east Hungary. ⋯ The major regions of Hungary revealed significant differences regarding the incidence, prehospital delay, treatment and mortality of AMI. Logistic regression analysis confirmed the independent prognostic significance of the region on the 30-day mortality of patients with STEMI (hazard ratio = 0.88, P = .0114; CI: 0.80-0.97).

Perceptions of primary health care physicians in Jordan of their role in the COVID-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study.
Following the remarkable spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), worldwide, it quickly became apparent that many public health systems worldwide were not prepared to manage such a pandemic. We aimed to assess the perceptions of primary care physicians (PCPs) in Jordan towards their role during COVID-19. ⋯ PCPs had a positive attitude towards controlling COVID-19 infection and showed a willingness to educate patients on how to protect themselves. However, PCPs should be provided special training on COVID-19.

Serum miR-224, miR-760, miR-483-5p, miR-378 and miR-375 as potential novel biomarkers in rheumatoid arthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease which affects various tissues and organs mainly joints. Serum microRNAs are considered a new class of non-coding RNA which plays a vital role in pathogenesis of RA. ⋯ Early detection of RA could be achieved through evaluation of serum expression of miR-224, miR-760, miR-483-5p, miR-378 and miR-375 which also may be used as targets for treatment of patients with RA.
