Meta AnalysisRegular arrangement of collecting venules (RAC) as an endoscopic marker for exclusion of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is the most common cause of gastric cancer. Growing evidence suggests that the regular arrangement of collecting venules (RAC) can be used as an endoscopic marker to diagnose H. pylori infection. However, data on the diagnostic accuracy of RAC for H. pylori infection are conflicting. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of relevant studies to determine the diagnostic accuracy and clinical utility of RAC for the diagnosis of H. pylori infection. ⋯ RAC can be used as an endoscopic marker for exclusion of H. pylori infection. However, it cannot be recommended as a single indicator for the confirmation of H. pylori infection. The conclusion of this study should be treated with caution because significant heterogeneity exists between the evaluated studies.

Meta AnalysisThe effects of Cynara scolymus L. supplementation on liver enzymes: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to summarise studies conducted on the effects of artichoke supplementation on liver enzymes. ⋯ Artichoke supplementation elicited significant reductions in liver enzymes, especially among patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Meta AnalysisAssociation of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 levels with gastric cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Many studies have investigated the association between serum IGF-1 and IGFBP levels with gastric cancer (GC), but the results remained inconclusive. In this work, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to examine the precise association of serum levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP with GC. ⋯ In conclusion, our study reveals a significantly lower level of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 in GC patients compared with healthy control subjects.

Meta AnalysisA systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of "on-demand" use of tramadol vs "on-demand" use of paroxetine in the management of patients with premature ejaculation.
To evaluate the effect of "on-demand" use of tramadol vs "on-demand" use of paroxetine in the management of patients with premature ejaculation (PE). ⋯ Compared with placebo, on-demand therapy of tramadol or paroxetine showed a better improvements in IELT and sexual satisfaction scores. Besides, on-demand tramadol revealed a better effect than on-demand paroxetine for patients with PE, and patients in both groups showed good tolerance.

Meta AnalysisCoronary revascularization in patients with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease: a meta-analysis.
To compare coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for revascularising coronary arteries in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD). CKD is described as a continuous decrease in the glomerular filtration rate or abnormalities in kidney structure or function. ⋯ Patients with ESRD, but not CKD, who underwent CABG had significantly lower all-cause mortality and cardiac mortality. However, CABG was associated with an increased risk of early mortality in patients with CKD or ESRD. Adequately powered, contemporary, prospective RCTs are needed to define the optimal revascularisation strategy for patients with CKD and ESRD.
