Review Meta AnalysisImpact on ovarian reserve after minimally invasive single-port laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy in patients with benign ovarian cysts: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The purpose of this article is to review the published literature on single-port laparoscopic (SPL) ovarian cystectomy and to assess whether the reduced port number affects the ovarian reserve in comparison with the conventional multiport laparoscopic (MPL) ovarian cystectomy. ⋯ SPL cystectomy may be offered as a minimally invasive surgical alternative for patients who want to preserve their fertility, at the cost of higher blood loss and longer operative time.

ReviewLow-value injury care in the adult orthopaedic trauma population: A systematic review.
Fifteen potentially low value practices in adult orthopaedic trauma care were previously identified in a scoping review. The aim of this study was to synthesise the evidence on these practices. ⋯ In this review, we identified clinical practices in orthopaedic injury care which are not supported by current evidence and whose use may be questioned. In future research, we should measure their frequency, assess practice variations and evaluate root causes to identify practices that could be targeted for de-implementation.

Meta AnalysisThe correlation of blood pressure variability and cognitive function in hypertension patients: a meta-analysis.
Cognitive impairment (CI) is very common in patients with hypertension. It is necessary to conduct a meta-analysis to evaluate the association between cognitive function and blood pressure variability in patients with hypertension, to provide insights into the clinical management of hypertension and cognitive impairment. ⋯ CI in hypertensive patients is closely associated with increased blood pressure variability. Clinical healthcare providers should pay attention to the management of blood pressure variability in hypertensive patients to reduce the occurrence of CI.

Multicenter StudyThe skills of defibrillation practice and certified life-support training in the healthcare providers in Turkey.
Successful cardiopulmonary resuscitation and early defibrillation are critical in survival after in- or out-of-hospital cardiopulmonary arrest. The scope of this multi-centre study is to (a) assess skills of paediatric healthcare providers (HCPs) concerning two domains: (1) recognising rhythm abnormalities and (2) the use of defibrillator devices, and (b) to evaluate the impact of certified basic-life-support (BLS) and advanced-life-support (ALS) training to offer solutions for quality of improvement in several paediatric emergency cares and intensive care settings of Turkey. ⋯ The professional experience is significant in the correct use of a defibrillator and related procedures. Given the importance of early defibrillation in survival, the importance and proper use of defibrillators should be emphasised in Certified BLS-ALS programmes. Certified BLS-ALS programmes increase the level of knowledge and self-confidence towards synchronised cardioversion-defibrillation procedures.

ReviewA comprehensive mechanistic and therapeutic insight into the effect of chicory (cichorium intybus) supplementation in diabetes mellitus: A systematic review of literature.
Cichorium intybus is a rich source of terpenoids and phenolic compounds, one of the effective methods in managing and reducing the complications of chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this systematic review was to evaluate the evidence obtained from animal and human studies on the effects of chicory on metabolic indicators (such as inflammation, oxidative stress, blood sugar and dyslipidaemia) of diabetes mellitus. ⋯ According to the available evidence, Cichorium intybus might improve the glycaemic status, dyslipidaemia, oxidative stress and inflammation. However, further studies are recommended for a comprehensive conclusion about the exact mechanism of chicory in diabetic patients.
