Meta AnalysisInvestigation of the clinical efficacy of Zn supplementation in improvement of oxidative stress parameters: A systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of controlled clinical trials.
Clinical efficacy of zinc (Zn) supplementation in the improvement of oxidative stress biomarkers has been investigated in some clinical trial studies. The purpose of the current dose-response meta-analysis is to systematically aggregate and evaluate all related studies to highlight the possible effect of Zn supplementation on oxidative stress. ⋯ Zn supplementation reduces MDA and Hcys levels, but not TBARS level. Supplementation with Zn <40 mg/day has an optimum effect on MDA level. Zn supplementation could be considered clinically as a beneficial approach in amending oxidative stress.

Meta AnalysisEffects of Garlic Extract on Lipid Profile in Patients with Coronary Artery Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Clinical Trials.
This meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the effects of garlic extract on total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-c) and high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-c), among the patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Literature searches were conducted in EMBASE, Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science and Cochrane Library until Sep18th, 2020. Inter-study heterogeneity was examined using Cochrane's Q and I2 tests. ⋯ Significant heterogeneity was observed for HDL-c (I2 = 76.8%). However, the findings of sensitivity analysis revealed that upon exclusion of the potential heterogeneity source, the pooled WMD on HDL-c levels were stable. Garlic supplementation may result in a decrease in TC, but will not affect TG, HDL-c and LDL-c levels among CAD patients.

ReviewDepresssion, Anxiety and Other Cognitive Consequences of Social Isolation: drug and non-drug treatments.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, quarantine and staying at home is advised. The social relationship between people has become deficient, and human social isolation (SI) has become the consequence of this situation. It was shown that SI has made changes in hippocampal neuroplasticity, which will lead to poor cognitive function and behavioural abnormalities. There is a connection between SI, learning, and memory impairments. In addition, anxiety-like behaviour and increased aggressive mood in long-term isolation have been revealed during the COVID-19 outbreak. ⋯ This manuscript aims to review improved cognitive impairments induced by SI during COVID-19.

Meta AnalysisThe effects of capsinoids and fermented red pepper paste supplementation on Glycemic Control: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
The present systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to investigate the effects of capsinoids supplementation on glycaemic control. ⋯ Overall, these data suggest that capsinoids and red pepper supplementation did not have beneficial effects on glucose, insulin, HbA1C and HOMA-IR but significantly reduce glucose in people older than 40 years.

ReviewCurrent laboratory tests for diagnosis of hepatitis B virus infection.
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) has a long history in human infectious diseases. HBV infection can progress chronically, leading to cancer. After introduction of a vaccine, the overall incidence rate of HBV infection has decreased, although it remains a health problem in many countries. ⋯ An effective diagnostic approach and current updated knowledge of treatment response monitoring are important for HBV infection management. Brand new ultrasensitive and accurate immunologic methods may pave the way to manage HBV infection in parallel with immunotherapy era.
