Association between different systemic therapies and the risk of tuberculosis in psoriasis patients: A population-based study.
Despite the evolution of biologic agents, the use of traditional systemic immunosuppressants still account for a considerable proportion of systemic anti-psoriasis therapy. The risk of tuberculosis among psoriasis patients receiving such conventional immunosuppressants is not clearly understood. ⋯ The study found that among systemic anti-psoriasis therapy, methotrexate, tacrolimus, azathioprine and steroid may be associated with an increased risk of tuberculosis.

Effect of multimodal preemptive analgesia on postoperative gastrointestinal function and clinical outcome in patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of multimodal preemptive analgesia on postoperative gastrointestinal function and clinical outcomes in patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal surgery. ⋯ The strategy of multimodal preemptive analgesia can effectively prevent the onset of POGD and may accelerate rehabilitation. In short, multimodal preemptive analgesia provides a novel prevention strategy for patients undergoing laparoscopic colorectal surgery.

Observational StudySensitivity and Specificity of a quick Sequential [Sepsis-Related] Organ Failure Assessment Sepsis Screening Tool.
There is limited evidence on the diagnostic accuracy of a quick Sequential [Sepsis-Related] Organ Failure Assessment (qSOFA) sepsis screening (SS) tool in developing nation health settings. The aim of this study was to test the diagnostic accuracy of a qSOFA-based SS tool, and the predictive validity of the qSOFA score in hospital ward patients from Argentina. ⋯ The qSOFA score could reasonably discriminate patients at risk of developing sepsis; qSOFA-based screening may be valuable where no screening criteria are in place.

Comparison of hyoid bone morphology between obstructive sleep apnea patients and healthy individuals.
We aimed to find morphological properties of the hyoid bone, which are predominant among the patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), and compare them with healthy individuals. ⋯ Our results suggest that the volume of the hyoid bone might be a potential biological marker for OSA, especially in the case of B and V hyoid bone types.

The provision of hospital at home care: results of a national survey of UK hospitals.
Hospital at home (HaH) replicates elements of hospital-based care in the community, to facilitate the safe management of a broad spectrum of acute illness in the patient's usual environment. The extent to which this model of care has been adopted in the United Kingdom is unknown. ⋯ At present, few acute hospitals for consitency in the United Kingdom have access to a hospital at home service capable of replicating essential elements of inpatient care. Our study suggests organisational change in acute care delivery and significant investment would be required to establish equal access to hospital-at-home care within the United Kingdom.
